01 Meet the magnificent overachiever

A little bit genius.
A lot of dog.

Australian Shepherds are medium-sized herding dogs with bright eyes, busy brains, and a legendary devotion to their people.

Despite the name, the modern breed was developed in the American West. But that sun-soaked, open-country spirit? We’re keeping it. Aussies bring athletic confidence, comic timing, and wholehearted enthusiasm to nearly everything they do.

04 Pocket-sized party facts

Did you
know?

Conversation starters for your next walk, dog-park debrief, or full-blown Aussie appreciation meeting.

01

The name is a plot twist

Australian Shepherds were refined in the western United States, likely alongside Basque shepherds and their dogs.

02

Eyes can mix and match

Brown, blue, amber—or one of each. Some Aussies even have more than one color in the same eye.

03

They herd with presence

Aussies are known as “loose-eyed” herders, working upright and using movement, bark, and body position.

04

They collect job titles

From agility and dock diving to therapy work and search-and-rescue, an Aussie loves a mission.

05

The wiggle is real

Many Aussies have naturally short tails, turning every happy greeting into a whole-body celebration.
